Meet Shia: Owner, Master Esthetician,
Shia, the owner of Glow Med Spa, is a Master Esthetician Instructor and Laser Technician with over two decades of experience in the skincare industry. Passionate about educating her clients, Shia specializes in treating pigmentation, adult acne, and premature aging, believing that understanding your skin is key to achieving lasting results. Her commitment to staying current in the industry is evident through her ongoing education in laser technology, medical skincare, and advanced treatments. As a spa owner, she has created a unique and welcoming environment in each location, using elemental themes like “Earth” in Northside and “Fire” in Short Pump to immerse clients in relaxation. Shia is dedicated to making high-quality skincare affordable and accessible, offering medical spa services at lower prices to encourage consistency and self-care as a lifestyle, not a luxury.

Anna, born and raised in Ukraine, has always been deeply passionate about helping others—both medically and holistically. After graduating high school, she began working as a medical assistant at a rehabilitation center for military personnel, which solidified her commitment to healthcare.
She later earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Crimean State Medical University in 2001 and began her career in Otolaryngology (ENT) in Moscow. During medical school, she met her husband, who later became a dermatologist and together they developed a shared vision for wellness-based care.
While raising their first son, Anna began exploring holistic treatments, eventually studying mesotherapy and paramedical esthetics. This shift led her and her husband to open a Wellness and Rejuvenation Center in Ukraine, offering services like botox, fillers, chemical peels, and bio-rejuvenation scar therapy. Their family soon grew with the arrival of their second son.
Longing to be closer to extended family, Anna and her loved ones eventually moved to the United States. After settling in Virginia, she studied English and returned to school to earn her Master Esthetics License.
In 2018, Anna joined Glow Med Spa—an aspiration she’d held for years. Since then, she’s continued to grow, becoming Head of Medical Esthetics and Education. In 2025, she also earned a Master’s Degree in Hair Transplantation from TECH Global University.
Anna is honored to serve Glow’s amazing clients and is proud to be part of a passionate, knowledgeable team dedicated to exceptional care.
Shia
Shia, founder of Glow Med Spa, has been a leader in skincare since 2003. Named Best Master Esthetician by Richmond Magazine, she combines deep expertise with a passion for client education and results. A licensed Master Esthetics Instructor, Shia partners with Virginia Works to mentor aspiring estheticians through Glow’s apprenticeship program. She’s trained extensively in advanced skincare technologies including Laser, IPL, and oxygen therapy, specializing in concerns like hyperpigmentation, aging, and acne. Shia’s mission is to help clients understand their skin and feel confident. At Glow, she leads a talented team committed to transformative care and a truly immersive self-care experience.
Anna
Anna, originally from Ukraine, has always been passionate about helping others through both medical and holistic care. After earning her MD from Crimean State Medical University in 2001, she specialized in ENT in Moscow. Alongside her dermatologist husband, she explored holistic treatments, opening a rejuvenation center in Ukraine.
After moving to Virginia, she studied English and earned her Master Esthetics License. In 2018, she joined Glow Med Spa, later becoming Head of Medical Esthetics and Education.
In 2025, she completed her Master’s in Hair Transplantation.
Anna is proud to serve Glow’s clients with compassion, expertise, and a commitment to wellness.

Owner: Ghizlane Samsoodeen
Ghizlane, a highly accomplished businesswoman spanning multiple industries, leverages her business-oriented upbringing;
nonetheless, she has consistently harbored a personal aspiration to make a meaningful impact within the skincare realm,
driven by an ardent passion, which has led to her ownership in
Glow Med Spa, a paragon of excellence within the beauty sector for over 15 years.
Kaveeta: Master Esthetician
Since a young age, Kaveeta has been extremely passionate about skincare and skin improvement. Her skincare journey started in her kitchen, where she and her mother would concoct soaps, lotions and masks with the information they had gathered from the library and latest trends in the fashion magazines. She grew up always believing in the power of ingredients and loving the effect she could achieve when helping her friends treat skin issues. To Kaveeta, beautiful skin equals beautiful confidence.
After obtaining her Master’s License, Kaveeta focused on growing her knowledge by gathering as much information as she could, wherever it was available, but she feels she learned the most over the years from her clients and the many different skin concerns they would request her expertise for. She enjoys being a part of her clients’ journey as they overcome skin challenges and truly finds happiness in seeing their excitement and smiles as they achieve their goals.
Nakisha
Nakisha’s journey at Glow Med Spa began in 2012, where she started as a Certified Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner after completing her training at the Medical Careers Institute in 2010. Her passion for spa treatments quickly grew, leading her to become a wax technician in 2013 with the launch of Glow’s Waxing Station.
Nakisha’s love for waxing naturally evolved into a deeper interest in skincare, prompting her to pursue further education in esthetics at the American Spirit Institute (2015-2018) Always driven to grow, she expanded her expertise in 2019 by becoming a certified Laser Technician, trained on the Candela GentleMax Pro.
Now, in 2025, Nakisha proudly steps into her new role as Head of Medical Esthetics and Education at Glow Med Spa. With a focus on advanced treatments, client care, and mentorship, she continues to inspire confidence and transformation through her work.
Nakisha is passionate about uplifting, connecting and helping her clients look and feel their best. Whether through wax, laser or customized skincare treatments her focus is always on creating a positive experience.
In her free time, she loves music, exploring, eating great food, traveling, seeking out new experiences and sharing laughs. Personal growth is important to Nakisha and she cherishes quality time with her two adult children

Laini: Master Esthetician
Since she was a little girl, Laini loved skin care. Struggling with acne herself, sparked her interest in all things skin. She would try and experiment with different products to achieve healthy that “healthy glow.” In 2019, she decided to turn her passion into a career by enrolling in the Master Esthetics Program here in Virginia.
Although she completed the program in July 2020, she is constantly learning to better help every one of her clients. Her goal in the treatment room is to educate her clients about their skin and help them achieve all their skin care goals. Everybody deserves to feel confident, her goal is to make all her clients feel confident and love their skin.
Laini
Laini is a skilled Master Esthetician and Laser Technician at Glow Med Spa, bringing her passion for skincare since 2019 after graduating from the Lotus School of Integrated Professions. With extensive hands-on experience, she combines expert treatments with personalized skin education, helping clients feel confident and radiant.
Originally from Mexico, Laini is bilingual and proudly supports our Spanish-speaking clients, creating a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her toddler and family.
Her warmth, dedication, and love for skincare make her a valued member of the Glow team and a favorite among clients.
Randi
With over five years of experience in esthetics and three wonderful years at Glow Med Spa, Randi brings a warm, intuitive approach to every treatment. She’s passionate about creating genuine connections with her clients and helping them feel confident, cared for, and radiant from the inside out.
Randi specializes in full body waxing, customized facials, chemical peels, and advanced skincare treatments tailored to each client’s needs.
She is also Reiki II certified, which reflects her belief in the connection between inner well-being and outer beauty.
Her goal is always to make clients feel seen, supported, and glowing — in every sense of the word.
Amanda
Amanda has been devoted to the beauty industry since she was a young girl. Having grown up in Virginia, she moved to Los Angeles, CA for 7 years to become a makeup artist, but realized that it was the education and science behind healthy skin that she truly wanted to dive into. After returning to her home state to work for Jane Iredale cosmetics, Amanda soon learned about Glow Med Spa and shortly after found her place there. She went on to receive both her Basics and Masters Esthetics License through Glow’s offered apprenticeship, and in February of 2025, she was promoted to the Head of Esthetics and Education team after her 7th year. Her passion for this industry can be recognized through the excellent care and knowledge she provides to her clientele, along with her continuing support and leadership for her Glow Med Spa team.
Jane
Jane is a Master Esthetician, wife, and proud mom of two daughters.
Originally from Ukraine, she moved to the U.S. in 2016 to reunite with her husband and begin a new chapter.
With a background in hotel and restaurant management, Jane discovered her true passion while working at a spa front desk.
She pursued esthetics, later joining Glow Med Spa’s apprenticeship program to master the American skincare approach. Jane believes beauty is for everyone and loves helping clients feel confident and radiant.
Her warm, welcoming nature makes every visit a personalized, uplifting experience. She can’t wait to meet you!
Leah
Leah is a Master Esthetician with a background in science and a passion for skincare, inspired by her own struggles with acne.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from Penn State and spent four years in emergency medicine, honing her skills in patient care.
Driven to help others achieve healthy skin, she pursued her esthetics license at the Charlottesville Institute of Modern Esthetics. At Glow Med Spa, Leah blends science-based treatments with a holistic approach to create personalized skincare plans.
Her goal is to empower clients with confidence while delivering real results and compassionate, knowledgeable care.
Lauryn
Lauryn began her esthetics career at the Georgia Career Institute, where she discovered a passion for continuous learning and advanced skincare.
Starting in Buckhead, she honed her skills in waxing before mastering techniques like lymphatic drainage massage, facials, detox treatments, EMS sculpting, and cryotherapy.
Her hands-on experience and dedication to ongoing education have shaped her into a skilled Master Esthetician.
Lauryn values building connections with her clients and finds joy in helping them feel confident and cared for.
Her goal is to create a relaxing, supportive space where each person feels pampered, empowered, and truly seen.
