Eyelashes to die for

About two to three times a day people ask me “Are your lashes real?” And it usually takes me about two to three times of repetitively saying “yes, they are mine..no seriously, completely mine…no extensions” for people to believe me! But I would be lying to say I didn’t have a little help.

No Maybelline, I wasn’t born with it…it’s LATISSE®!

LATISSE® solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. And let’s be honest…longer, lusher lashes are the equivalent of the Holy Grail for most women!

So what is LATISSE® ? How do you apply it? Is it dangerous? Can it make my eyes darken? All great questions that we hear all the time….so lets get started!

Glow Med SpaLATISSE® comes in a little bottle that squeezes out one drop at a time, about the consistency of liquid eyeliner and meant to be applied to both top eyelids at night. You do not need to apply it to your lower lids…in fact, Allergan prefers that you avoid that area since LATISSE® is a hair follicle stimulant– and if it gets anywhere else on your face, you could be in for a hairy surprise. So, as stated before…just the top lid!

The solution is recommended one time per day (at night) for longer, thicker lashes. Keep in mind, If you get a little carried away and try to apply it a couple times a day, you will not see faster results or lashes long enough to braid…you will just be wasting the solution!

You will see your full set of LATISSE® lashes, (or as I like to refer to them as “Snuffalufagus lashes”) after continuous use of the solution for a solid 16 weeks. But, with that said, most people see results in as little as 3 weeks…and feel like the VaVoom lashes have arrived after 8 weeks…so results are different for everyone.

Once your lashes are stopping traffic, you can lesson the frequency of application. Three to four times a week will be fine.If you stop using LATISSE® your eyelashes are expected to return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months…and who wants that?

LATISSE® is recommended to lengthen, darken, and thicken lashes but is not used as a substitute for make-up. You can definitely use mascara over your new, lovely lashes.

LATISSE® is a prescription, so you will need to go to a Doctor’s office or Med Spa to get it. (And yes, we do sell it at Glow Med Spa!!) The price varies due to new discounts that Allergan continuously puts out. Usually you are looking at $180.00 per box (plus tax), which covers you for about two months… but always ask us what specials we have, because you just never know when we will be offering the ‘Buy One Get One’ sale!

And… DRUM ROLL PLEASE! The most frequent wonder/worry of those who are thinking about buying LATISSE®: “The commercial says my eyes will get darker! I don’t want to have brown eyes!”

Okay, listen up all you blue, green and hazel eyed beauties! Allergan is using the same test study results of the drug LUMIGAN® (same thing as LATISSE® ) which is an eye drop treatment for glaucoma. (Not used the same way as LATISSE® ) A small percentage of these glaucoma patients had experienced the darkening of the iris, so Allergan wants to cover all the bases and warn you that it could be a possibility. Iris pigmentation was not reported in clinical studies with LATISSE® , but out of the 250 people used for the clinical trials, 3.6% percent experienced eye itching and red eyes. This is something that usually passes over time. Also, eyelid skin darkening may occur which usually is reversible.

So there you have it! Want LASHES TO DIE FOR? Try LATISSE®!!!
